DO YOU WANT TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR ?

India is a country of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneur : The one who runs his own business. You walk out of your home, you will find a flower vendor , a fruit seller, a vegetable seller. You reach station and see a cobbler, a vadapav vendor, an idli vada seller, a person having a tea stall and people thronging them. These are all people who are self-employed and are entrepreneurs in their own way. They are capable of generating income and providing goods or services to people.   When we are unable to find jobs, the best way is to become an entrepreneur even if you have a little investment. There is a new term called start ups. These are sophisticated entrepreneurs who are able to come up with new idea of doing business. Eg it could be selling variety of idlis and start with just one outlet or cloud kitchen and when you see growth and profits you expand them to many outlets. Eg Myntra and that way you can also get good funding from the venture capitalist. If your idea is good othe...

Influencers Vs Leaders

Influencers Vs Leaders We are in the social media world today where every person has followers and that means each one is a leader. Am sure you are smiling reading this. Yes, we have great leaders in politics, in corporate, science and spirituality. Ever wondered why they are leaders. It’s because of the work they have done, the sacrifices, the way people relate to them and want to be like them or follow their footsteps is what makes them leaders. It’s not just your insta, twitter, linkedin followers make you a leader. There is a difference between influencer and leader. Some people just follow you and give you likes. The influencers are just having great social media following. But the real leaders are also recognised sans social media on the ground with real people. We can say so many examples of great leaders from Mahatma Gandhi to Narendra Modi, From Sadguru to Ratan Tata to Dr Kalam. We don’t know them because of social media but because of their great contribution...

SHIFT TO NEW FORM OF STRESS

What hits your   brain when you hear this word STRESS. May be the most googled word to get rid off. I have a question to you. Pl go and ask your grandparents if they know of this word. You will be surprised that they will tell you that they were never stressed in life. Now is it becoz they were more rich than what we are today . The answer is No. Infact, each generation only grows and has much more than what others had. Be it education, big house, assets or facilities and ease of commuting. Also pl understand when do we get stressed. When what we want we are unable to get. Eg : we want to get high marks, or we want to reach college early and the bus isn’t coming. We have to study and some guests have arrived. Even trivial things like these could give us so much stress. So just imagine our grand parents had wants like no rain and so the farms would dry up. There was no hospital and someone is ill and needs to be taken to city to survive. There was a question of life and d...

Short Story: The Real Applaud

The classroom was noisy. There was some time till the professor of the next lecture arrived. A girl sat quietly. All others were chatting, laughing, some eating chips and some just patting on the back of another student and cracking a joke. There was huge laughter. One of the groups said, she is a new joinee. Others exclaimed..now. Must be rich or not in good studies so may be the other college dint want her. One boy pointed to another : Hey! you go and ask her marks and there was a huge laughter. All giggling looking at her. She just bent her head and sat. Just then, the professor entered. He said we have a new joinee with us today. We are really happy to have her as she has secured gold medals for her outstanding performance in the previous years. The class was silent and the group which made fun of her just raised their eyebrows in awe. The professor then continued I was listening to all the fun and frolic before I entered here. So there is a learning for all of us h...

SPREAD HAPPINESS

Happiness : Do you know what is the most important thing for a child of 6 years and above. Guess the answers : Parents ? No Grand Parents ? No Care taker ? No Friends ? No Teacher ? Yes They are the people outside home where they spend maximum time and deal with the outside world. A small word of encouragement from teacher puts a smile on the child. And the opposite is true too. Scolding or neglect by a teacher makes the child so sad. I am now studying psychology. I am the only in my family pursuing it. When my mother heard the concepts while I study them aloud, she said, these should be taught to every student just like maths, science or social studies and languages. These really make you understand what each person is going through and is so practical. She was right. That made me wonder, if psychology is atleast the main subject of every teacher, there will be no student left sad or neglected. I know my neighbour who is just 4 yr old but gushes with pride ...

Short Story : OLD AGE HOME

Moral Story :  Sita Devi was 85 years old. She had six children. Sitting on a bench under the shady tree, she was seeing other women walk around. Just then she heard someone say please come inside and have your snacks. She took her walking stick. Went and had soup and some boiled veggies. She sat in her room and rested. The room was neat with beautiful bed sheet on her bed. A flower vase near the table. There was so much peace and silence. Everything looked so perfect. The laughter of children played loud. She was cooking meals for so many family members. Serving hot chapattis and making laddoos and namkeens and keeping them filled in jars. Sending sweets dabbas to her daughter’s home. There used to be guests visiting. Festivals, religious gathering and life was good. All this flashed in front of her. Her daughter came to visit her just then knocking the door and enquired if she was fine. Sita Devi smiled and said yes I am very happy. Its so peaceful here. There is no ...

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Skill development We all have heard about this term. Our parents and ancestors were actually doing this. So for those who do not know what it is , let me explain you in simple terms. Skill means some talent that you possess and that development is skill development. What is the need ? Our population is rising but the employment is not rising at same level and speed. Hence, to bridge the gap and provide employment to not so educated youth, skill development is needed. How to go about ? Every individual is blessed with some talent and that talent can be harnessed by proper training. For eg we see a carpenter. If he goes and applies in some company for a job, he might not find a job suitable for him. But he knows his skill well and can earn by doing carpentry job. This will solve the problem of unemployment and make people self- reliant Today we have so many NGOs doing skill development in rural and urban areas which is commendable. Important: Do not read this blog...
