Indian culture
India is a land of numerous cultures. Within the country music, foodstuff,
religions, dances, languages, customs and traditions differ from place to
place. Traditional Indian clothing greatly varies across different parts of the
country. Popular styles of dress include clothes such as sari for women,
kurta, dhoti and lungi for men. Traditionally, the red bindi or sindoor is used
only by hindu married women. Similarly Indian dances have diverse folk forms. Among
the well-known folk dances are bhangra of Punjab, Bihu of Assam, Odishi of Odisha,
ghoomar of Rajeshthan, dandiya and garba of Gujarat and lavani of Maharashtra.
India is one of the most diverse nations in the world. India has
some of the deepest religious societies and cultures. Several elements of its
diverse culture such as cuisines, yoga, religions, festivals, family values etc.
have profoundly influenced the people across the world.
Family system plays a significant role in Indian culture. You
should see an Indian wedding. You will find dada dadi, mama mami, masa masi,
nana nani, chacha chachi , bhaiya bhabhi, and so on..these are the family
members who gather and enjoy all the rituals together.
Earlier there used to be a joint family system but now slowly we
can see more nuclear families but Indian system is strong that we have so many
family groups on whatsapp and all are so active on social media and making the
most of the video calls J
Our deep rooted culture lies in respecting the elders and we greet
any uncle and aunt with a Namaste!! And also wish each other on festivals, be
it neighbors, or relatives or friends. You will still find passengers sharing
lunch in train, children of different passengers playing together. The locals
of Mumbai is again a mini India.
We are so adaptive and respect every religion, caste and language
of all. Especially the youngsters of today just believe in humanity as their
top most religion. So we have a bright future ahead for India.
